I remember in the early 60s when my father decided to open a small general dealer business in jeppestown (downtown Johannesburg) ,without any security for credit he had to pay cash and trading was very difficult the turnover from one day was almost entirely used up to purchase stock for the next day.

Slowly but surley he persevered and the business began to grow, necessitating a banking account, expansion of stock and credit facilities, and all the other wonderful things that comes with a newly flourishing business, soon the premises became too small and he had to extend into the shop next door and the younger  members of his family were now called in to help and before he knew it he had a thriving family business which has evolved into a leading outfitting business synonamous with all  major international labels as well as development of many in-house brands which have become recognised throughout south Africa .
